An excellent week. Even though we were working at staffing levels reduced by 50% of the norm, the team was so amazing, we managed to get everything done, with style. There was a veritable ‘spirit of The Blitz’ vibe going on; adversity is the salt that adds the savour to success, and it was a very good week indeed.
I’ve been re-watching Person Of Interest, which if you haven’t seen it, why the blazes not? This previous fortnight has been absolutely bonkers- I’ve only survived it by direct divine intervention. I was telling my nephew that I feel just like Root in POI, only without the MP5, the RPG, or the interesting psychiatric conditions.
It’s design season again and I’d be letting you down if I didn’t showcase some of the standout exhibitors on the blog. I found lots to like this year, particularly at 100% Design so it means you won’t have to scroll through my usual diatribe about talent-free design hacks.
Don’t know about you, but I’m exhausted. I’m not sure if it’s the reduction in sunlight or a holiday hangover but I am wasted. I had a week off and foolishly got no rest. I went to Frome over the bank holiday, really liked it. It’s mostly built of Bath stone so it’s really lovely. A lot of stuff was closed though – I never expect that; think everywhere’s like London.
Here we are, at the last Hurrah of summer. I’ve been having one of those weeks when it seems that either I’m being punked, or the world has gone nutso. It reminded me of one of my favourite sites in Jerusalem, the aptly named ‘Bonkers Cafe’ which is a fitting metaphor for the whole Middle East, nay, the whole world.
