The Big Reveal
We made it to Ally Pally! It has been a hectic couple of weeks- I was in New York for 4 days then back to work for a week and now a pell-mell journey to Alexandra Palace. In the midst of that, sorting out tickets which didn’t arrive, ordering last minute ingredients, we have also launched a bath line– body cleansers, handwashes, as well as hand & body creams, and lip balms, all with new fragrances, all made by hand. Totally bonkers.
I think it all looks pretty swanky, no? I’m particularly pleased with the washes as they are totally sulfate-free. SLS (sodium lauryl sulphate) is what is usually added to shower gels to make them sudsy but it can dry out and irritate skin. Our washes use oxygenated aloe vera which is super-gentle on the skin and they have added moisturising oils. I haven’t even had time to put them in the online shop yet. That’s one for tomorrow after the first day of the fair.
So, Alexandra Palace. I’ve lived in London for a gazillion years and have never been. To tell the truth, I’m strictly a West End girl. North London makes me nervous; my cut-off point is St. John’s Wood 🙂 Yeah, I know- a penniless wannabe being snooty. Anyhoo, this whole area is a revelation. The view from Ally Pally itself is stupendous.
This gallery photo doesn’t do it justice – I’m going to take some tomorrow and post those. It’s like the view from Parliament Fields or the very top of Hampstead Heath. Muswell Hill is also really pretty and all the cherry blossom is out. It looks amazing, I’m a convert. Alexandra Palace itself is lovely. I’m in the room with that Rose window plus in the next section they have a real-life garden with wee baby lambs. Totally adorbs. They’ve assured us that they’re very comfy there and they are certainly happily gambolling away. Country Living has done a terrific job, plus they upgraded my stand so they’re very much in my good books. We’re now at stand D19 rather than C4.
It’s all pretty much set up for tomorrow, thanks to my intrepid niece Ari. She even put up with me barking orders at her and generally being obnoxious. Ari, you’re a gentlewoman and a scholar, thank you. I’m looking forward to seeing the competition winners and if you visit, please come and say hello. Nearest tube is Wood Green and there’s a shuttle bus that will bring you up the hill. I think it’s gonna be a good one, I can feel it in me water. Hope to see you there. Toodle pip as we say in North London…..
