What Is Truth?
Ta-dah! The re-jig of this lovely website continues. We finally had the photos done properly but the ongoing saga with that is such that the wretched pictures which are crystal-clear in other contexts are coimg out blurred on the products pages. Aaarrrghhh! Anyway, that can be fixed (surely?) but they are really nice pics. More about them when they are in properly.
So, what a fortnight. The limpet PM finally got dislodged although she’s still in residence , refusing to take the hint as usual. What a shower! I’m not a fan but I think I’ll go easy on the invective as this is after all a company blog, not that you’d notice from all the other rants I’ve gone on. Theresa May is an irrelevance, it’s just a shame she was allowed enough latitude to do such harm to the country. She didn’t do it alone though, equal shame goes to all the MPs and civil servants who sought to subvert a democratic vote and help turn the UK into a laughing stock. For the first time I actually heard people speculating about the government fixing votes and ballot boxes going missing, such is the mistrust of the populace. How did things get so bad without us noticing? Bread and circuses of course – we were all busy watching Love Island or BGT or following some pathetic Royal non-drama, we assumed our democracy was rock-solid and took our eyes off the ball.
When did media outlets stop reporting the facts and begin editioralising – reporting opinion as news and ignoring any facts that did not tally with their agenda? They all do it, you have to read several papers from both ends of the spectrum to even begin to approach the truth. It’s so depressing. ‘Truth is the first casualty of war’, and it would seem that the human race is in for the fight of its life just to hold on to our civil liberties, forget improving on them.
To read most papers and listening to the news, the LibDems and Remainers were absolutely triumphant in the EU elections- Nigel Farage managed to get a ‘paltry 35%’ of the votes. They magicked this up by adding all the votes that were not cast for the Brexit Party and then made the giant leap that anyone who voted for any other party was a Remainer. They also determined by using the same magic that anyone who also did not vote at all was a Remainer. Ye gods and little fishes, this is why the educational system is being dumbed down and critical thinking is absent from the curriculum. Below is the map of the results of the EU elections:
See that sea of blue? Those are the total votes cast for the Brexit Party. This is the map from the Daily Mail which while busily spouting Leave sentiments has been doing everything it can to undermine it, so believe me, it’s not partisan. How does anyone look at that map and claim that the Brexit Party which did not exist two months ago could have done better, and still claim sanity? Even in London which I can assure you is truly Remain Central, 2 of the 8 MEPS are Brexit Party, that’s 25%. Yet, insist they do.
That’s what worries me. Remainer, Leaver, Indifferent, what makes them so confident that they can unblushingly tell such naked untruths at every level of society and expect no repercussions? Do they underestimate us or are we indeed as stupid as they think we are? Best of luck to the poor fool who has to outmanouevre the status quo and unite this nation, what with all the people intent on destroying and scattering. They are going to need divine intervention. But all is not lost – Man proposes, God disposes. I’ve learnt not to worry about anyone who can’t guarantee that when they next inhale, they’ll be alive to exhale. So as always, let them dance in the light of their fires… We of course won’t leave you upset on this glorious bank holiday. AlaraApothecary: we cheer you up. I give you one of the funniest things I’ve ever seen: Finch singing the seminal Twisted Sister song ‘We’re not gonna take it’ which by the way is based on the music of ‘O Come All Ye Faithful’ which makes it even funnier. Uncle Ralph from Dublin! Awesome! Live free, or die trying. Have a good one.
