Oh happy day! We’ve been working our socks off trying to launch AlaraApothecary and get our brand out there so how excited were we when The Beauty Bible decided to feature our products? Yep, I literally had to walk round and round in circles before I could get my head around it. I’d met one of the co-founders Sarah Stacey at the CountryLiving Fair and she kindly stopped by and took an interest in our stand.
I wasn’t sure anything would come of it but she has been so helpful, it’s unbelievable. I can only assume it’s some major divine intervention, with God on the case 24/7 because they must get bombarded with loads of products etc so thank you Father, you’re awesome and you know it. I’ve been keeping schtum about it all since May whilst they tried to fit us into their schedule and now the day is finally here! (Does a little undignified dance around the room….) Sarah and the team at The Beauty Bible have been so amazing, I don’t even know how to thank them for helping me. The link for the review is below:
There’s more: we’ve also been invited to submit entries for the 2020 Beauty Bible Awards. If I tell you that last year’s winners included Espa, Balance Me, Omorovicza, This Works, Aromatherapy Associates, Aurelia, Jurlique, etc, etc you’d know why I’m dizzy with excitement. Just to be mentioned in the same breath as those guys is a really big deal, I’m still pinching myself. The competition will be just as stiff this year but I believe we will win something 🙂 Maybe more than one thing… From my fingers to God’s ears.
So, after much prayer and fasting (OK, not so much fasting), it’s great to be making some real progress. It has been a major slog but you’ve got to keep keeping on and never give up. We now have 35 different products and there’s some new secret stuff in development. It is totally bonkers when I look back to the first tentative focus group of unsuspecting colleagues who were roped into picking their favourite five fragrances, the endless refinement of the products, suppliers, artwork, ad infinitum. And it’s not finished; we’re repackaging at the moment so watch this space. In the meantime, go to The Beauty Bible INSTANTLY and enter the competion to win a set of our Honeysuckle range. I can’t believe how popular that’s become – the Rose Geranium * Vanilla used to rule the waves. I get so many compliments when I use the Honeysuckle body oil that I’m looking for a way to turn it into Eau de Parfum. Work, work, work – I love it.
What next? Well, ideally I’d like a shop of my own, that’s my current major prayer point. If any beauty buyers are reading this, please get in touch. I’m telling you, you won’t regret it. A big thank you to all the family members (especially Ari, take a bow) who have helped me, tested the products, manned the stand at Fairs, encouraged me and put up with my whinging. It’s not the Oscars but I couldn’t be more grateful if it were and I don’t think I’ve thanked people enough. Obviously the most whinging has been to God in prayer—why, why, why, how long, how long….etc, so I thank Him for helping me and taking it easy with the thunderbolts. Now comes the hard part – seizing the opportunity and running with it. Don’t forget we are also on Amazon and at Kin Lifestyle in Wellington, Somerset. See you on the other side.
